The last time they ran a similiar tourney(500+50) in Limerick which was earlier this year they got 90+, I have no idea if they will get that many tonight

I hope they are doing more advertisement in Limerick than they are in Dublin.

No harm turning up to see what the numbers are like. Wander around and see who is there.

Think there have been alot of tickets given out in sats already so numbers should be ok

Id say the number will be pretty close to 50 runners.

29 would you believe. €11600 in the prize pool, €6000 of which was given out in tickets. Scandalous.

    Scandalous ?? Please explain.

6 tickets at 1500 and the balnce in cash.

    Where is the scandel ?

Although it is advertised as a super sat, I think over half the prize money been given out as tickets is a bit much.

I hear what your saying, but I would be of the opinion that the majority of people playing in the event would be doing so trying to win a ticket to the main event. With that in mind I think 4 is reasonable.

I would be more concerned about the numbers who played.

28 this year about 60 last year.

This is yet another affirmation of the declining numbers at touneys held by Pokerevents. I know numbers are steadily falling at the Red Cow every Monday. Anybody got any opinions on this ? Fintan has been very conspicuous by his abscence in recent months at both events and on this forum.

if I were Pokerevents first thing to be done is totally change their website which has to be the worst on the net.

There is no explanation of the tournaments and unless you have played in previous events you could not follow what they are doing.

If they do provide information its only the blind structure and even this leaves a lot to be desired.:confused::confused:

With no club in Card Club in Limerick at the moment, its the only regular dealer dealt game and alot of the players would prefer cash prizes as apposed to tickets. These concerns were raised on Friday and I think the whole Pokerevents setup needs to be reviewed if they're to continue providing a successful service.

Poker in Limerick is dying a ****ing death so you can understand StraddleFor6 and I being frustrated. Despite my best efforts this isn't likely to change in the near future either.

Since Donal's departure the effort to promote and improve these events has been extremely lax and the players have responded accordingly. Pokerevents seem to have taken a huge step backwards. No commercial sponsor, numbers dwindling and estimated prizepools miles off the mark.

The weekly event is poor value with 20% reg and apart from Peter and Aaron the dealers are complete train wrecks.

Without drastic improvement I don't see how PE can sustain themselves but I would like like to see them stay in Limerick, because we need a decent weekly FO here, and if its done properly there is huge demand for it.

    Nicky,

I'm thinking about running a weekly or biweekly game in Limerick, I was thinking along the lines of €125 & €25 Reg.

6000 starting stack (early bird 1000)
    20 Min blind levels
    full blind structure
    Dealers for every table

    What do you think?

I won a ticket in the sats before the Limerick game. That night didn't really suit me that much so i decided to play in the Cork Super Sat instead as I could play when I was visiting the folks in Cork. That night online I went to check the dates and found that the Cork sat has been cancelled, after being advertised for weeks on the website.

    Not a happy camper

To be fair, when I complained on their website they explained that they had tried to contact all the Cork ticket winners and they offered to give me cash for my ticket

I'm afraid I have to agree with Nicky though with regard to Pokerevents this year. I have great respect for the Pokerevents setup. the games they offer have a good structure and are usually enjoyable but this year they just don't offer good value. If I pay €80 entry plus a €20 reg fee into a MTT I expect a decent payout. I came fifth a couple of weeks ago and got €120. that's €20 profit. I'm afraid the risk/profit ratio just isn't good enough. They need to promote these games and get player numbers up or they will die a death when a cardroom opens in limerick.

I will continue to play in these games as I enjoy the poker and the athmosphere is good but as soon as there is any competition then a lot of people will be making decisions as to where they will play their poker and unless the Pokerevents games improve, it may not be with Pokerevents.
