Paul Scheuring (PB's creator) has gone on record regarding what will be covered in Season 2, and what will happen if there is a Season 3.

** Minor spoilers about what plots will be wrapped up before the end of Season 2. **
The ongoing plot in Prison Break will be resolved before the second season is out, show creator Paul Scheuring has revealed.

Speaking to Broadcast this week, Scheuring said that it was important that the original story, which centres around Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell) being framed for a governmental murder, was not "protracted" longer than necessary.

He added that US broadcast network Fox could still ask for a third season, however, if ratings remain high. The show currently averages between 8 and 9 million viewers in its Monday 8pm timeslot, with particularly strong scores in the coveted 18-49 demographic.

"We have to conceptualise season three now," said Scheuring, but explained that he may not be involved beyond season two.

The writer's exclusive deal with Prison Break producer Twentieth Century Fox expires next April, after which he plans to start writing independent movies. "If I were to say the show's over [after season two], Fox would say... we'll have someone else run the show. That could happen."

The second season airs in the UK on Five from January.

Spoilers dont give away anything from the show btw, except perhaps what the people who only want two series's want to hear ;)

I'm sure i'd watch a third season if it was created, even if it was just to see wether it would be any good.

    another update on season 3
Prison Break executive producer Paul Scheuring is in the process of planning a third season of the successful American drama, DS can confirm.

Reports previously suggested that the second season, which is now well underway in the US, would be Scheuring's last.

An insider for the show revealed to DS: "Paul's definitely writing a third season and not all the characters will make it to the next instalment."

The producer has vowed that the ongoing storyline will be resolved by the end of the current run, casting doubt as to how a third season would be feasible.

The source went on to explain: "Paul has said that another stint would focus on just one or two of the surviving characters, so expect more gruesome deaths in the coming episodes of the second season."

I love prison break i think its brilliantly thought out and its one of the most addictive shows ive ever seen! i watched series 1 in afew days and it was brilliant and now im nearly caught up with america on the new series and its brilliant too but i dnt think they should make many more series's! i think if they stretch it loads its gonna go bad and i dnt think they should ruin the great thing that it already is! id say draw the line at series 3! no more or it will begin to get stupid id say! even if they left it at 2 seasons it would be good! series 1 is about the break out and series 2 is the getaway!
