Ok, so i was wondering if i should update the bios on my motherboard. I've read that the my board (Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3) has some issues with the default bios, and people seem to recommend updating to the F4 version (or the newer F7). Unfortunatly, i dont have a floppy drive to flash the drive with...any other way of doing it?

Do gigabyte not have a windows flash utility, my Dfi uses winflash, (altho i try not to use it as dos is safer), have a look on their site. There are usually links 2 it from the bios download page.

Edit: i see some1 found it for ya already :)

Hmm, it's usually done by floppy i'm afraid and it's even more annoying that you still need those bloody drives.

Just ask a mate for a loan of one, you only need it for a few seconds.

use the windows bios updater. I myself have a dfi board, and find winflash great, I know gigabyte have their own utility, its easy to use and straight forward,

And iirc their utility has the ability to connect to the net and download the drivers ( from a list ).

MSI have a winflash thingy too, but "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" when it comes to BIOS updates I think, if it goes wrong, you're boned.
I did one and it knocked out my USB 2.0 ability, made my external HD and USB key basically useless!

Thats what happen when a bios flash goes wrong. All you had to do to fix it was reflash. Just remember when flashing to close all programs running, like msn/irc/xfire/steam/Ffox/explorer/torrentclient. basicially everything. then If you are overclocked, go to standard settings then flash. ive never had a problem, And i have been flashing my bios's for about 5 years now.

Also rememebr if you have a gigabyte board, most of them have a dual bios. So if you feck it up dont worry, look at your manual.
