Dublin City Jobs / Food Jobs are sending me spam. I have never joined their websites.

I have e-mailed them asking to be removed from their list, but this just seems to have increased the spam from them.

They are spamming from hosting365 servers!

How do I report them???

You could always contact support@hosting365.ie about this, also sent an email to abuse@<the dublin city jobs URL>.ie and CC abuse@hosting365.ie. That is the normal protocol. All mail servers are suppost to have an 'abuse' inbox to report problems regarding email from that source.

    OK I have reported them.

Just for the record, I have never signed up for an account with these people. It is spam.

They used to spam my company with adverts as well (again, where did they get my address??)

    Is spam illegal in Ireland?

If you've ever put your email address on a forum, or in an email to someone you don't know, then it's at risk of being picked up.

Yes and no. Unsolicited communications are illegal, but there are a few steps which have to be taken before legal proceedings are even considered.

This is what the Data Protection Commissioner has to say about Spam & what steps you can take.

They are still spamming. I have e-mailed Hosting 365 (got a reply saying they will look into it), Eircom and Dublin City Jobs.

    No change.

    Annoying!

LOL! I have for 5 years being getting a month newletter from an aideenmcginn@osk.ie each month I reply to be removed, but 5 years later no joy! LOL!

I thought if you email someone with a relevant B2B offer of a product or service, then it is consider ok.

For example if you own a Tyre shop and I got the rights to sell some new brand of Tyre in Ireland, and I got the emails of all the tyre shops, car garages, and motor shops in ireland, and sent them an offer relevant to their business, with an unsubscribe/remove facility, then that is NOT consider spam.

    Is that correct?

There has to be a fine line..... like if someone is emailing my IT business with an offer for cheap bra and knickers, that is not relevant and it would be a pain. but if someone emailed me and said they can cut my phone bill and save me 50% , even if it is unsolicated...then thats fine by me...I probably would call them!

If the laws get too strict....cannot send an email, cannot send a fax, cannot call someone to see if your business can help them in some good way...then the economy will be fooked!!!!!

sales in companies will fall, people will be laid off, the 3 bed house in Lucan will be repossed by the bank, and we're all screwed...even taxes will fall.

The sometimes I wonder does the policy makers have any business experience in the real world.

so there has to be a fine line...as a business owner I got some great deals, saved money, found new services through people "spamming" me with email, fax, letter or phone.

like its only an email....if you don't like it delete it... and forget about it.
One day I sent a guy an email B2b totally legit and he called me twice and emailed me once to roar at me!!!! LOL!!! over a bloody email !

Yup. Where the email is being sent to a business (as opposed to an individual) the Data Protection Commissioner's line is:
A phone call may be made or an SMS/MMS/e-mail or fax sent for the purpose of direct marketing as long as the sender has respected any opt-out preference expressed by the recipient.

It becomes SPAM when the recipient tells you that they don't want to receive any further contact.

More info in this link already posted above.

This is ridiculous!! Still spamming... More complaints to Hosting365 who refuse to do anything about it... More "please unsubscribe" e-mails to Dublin City Jobs who just ignore me... Incredible that a real Irish company is reverting to spam to try to get traffic.
