    Hi
My mam has lots of pictures on her computer at home. She loves to look through them but cant get her head around the complications of the pc. Every time i come home i find the files have moves from the original folder and some have been deleted. Dont ask me how she does this.
Just looking for a simple way to lock the file so she can view but not modify them in any way.
I have tried editing the permissions but frustatingly when i tick the option to deny modify it checks all the boxs so the files cant even be read.
    Any ideas?
    Cheers
    jp

Tell her to just use the one folder (pic folder) and not to open any other folder. You in the mean time make a back-up of her pictures folder and if she deletes any you can just overwrite the folder files.

Why not make a simple .html file to read the contents of the directory and let her view files through that? That way she can view updates etc but won't mess around with the files.
