If she screamed "Don't get on the plane!" would you do it?

Y'know in those movies where there's a girl and her friends are getting on a plane or something and she has a bad feeling about it and so goes hysterical and screams "don't get on the plane!" And then the audience think the people are such idiots for getting on the plane anyway.

(actually I think final destination did something like that)

Well if that girl was your friend, would you get on the plane?

I would, I'd feel pretty uneasy about it though, and the audience would be like "ooh she's gonna die!"

    But would you?

Yeah.... sure.... I'd get on the plane... I have a life insurance policy so I have nothing to worry about.

Well if it was a friend and she screamed it, or didn't want to get on the plane herself, then I probably wouldn't (being a friend) and just sort out tickets for another flight. If she felt sketchy about that one too I'd definately get on it though!

If it were just some randomer I'd most likely get on it alright.

    Hell no.

I have a hard enough time getting on them as it is, if someone did that, there'd be a me-shaped hole in the wall of the airport before they finished the sentence.

I don't fly with my friend that does that anymore. Not since they stopped allowing you to bring liquids on board. All the chloroform has to stay in my check-in baggage.

I'd tease her for being a wuss and fire whiskey into her until she calmed down enough to get on the plane. Then I'd die screaming and crapping myself in a jihadist fireball.

It's such a hassle being friends with B.A. Baracus, isn't it?

I aint goin on no plane!

I don't listen to my friends very often and even if I did, I wouldn't be able to hear them with the engines and such. Is this the untimely end of Ruu?

Yeah, I guess I would do this, and eh, have a chat with my friend.

I know, and now he's started keeping his bottles of milk with him, I can't spike it with anything either.

It really depends on what friend.

If one of them said it, I'd probably go on the plane anyway, only to find a woopie cushion or an icy bucket of water.
Now, if a few of the others said, I ain't getting on that motherf*cking plane!
    There probably would be snakes.;)

I have a life insurance policy.

:D good to see positive thinking.

so you see dying as a risk and not as an inevitable fact of life :)

I'd ask them why, and if they had a good reason, then I probably wouldn't. If nothing happens to the plane, though, she's reimbursing me for my ticket...

Randomer : I would hop on the plane fast and efficiently

Friend : It's a toughie. If it was a really good friend then I would more than likely get off. If she/he told me in musical form it would be certain. If they went through the hassle of creating a musical number, something would definitely be up.

    ROFFLES!!!! Love it!!!!

I don't know any of my friends get that sort of intuitive feelings, but I do know that I get them!
So if I say DO NOT get on that PLANE! Then by all means - stay on solid ground!

how much did the flight cost me?

Couldn't get on the plane. If a good friend, I would have to stick by them while airport security hasseled them. And if the plane boarding was in the US, I might also have to get them a lawyer for their legal defense. And if the US Homeland (In)Security Department got a hold of them, I would have to try and find out where they kidnapped* and took them before I could work on their release.

*Oh, I think they call it rendition or something, rather than kidnapping, but the outcome is the same. After you find them, you have to pay a ransom to a lawyer to work on their release.

Last month i was flying back to Ireland and someone decided not to fly. She had already loaded her bags so were sitting in the plane waiting for them take them off. I presume she bottled it.

As i was bored and had nothing to read, had my ticket stub in my hand so read the back. Never did it before, but it has the words final destination on it.

Just thought "Bollox". Got alot more nervous then. Got the air hostess to beer me up though.

I guess it's one of those things you can't answer until you're in the situation?

Hard to know if there'd be anything in it ,but i saw one of these http://tinyurl.com/yg9srf that had gone from uk to europe and all the bolts holding on the flaps were just beyond hand tight.Accidently discovered because someone dropped stuff down near one and cover had to be removed.

If you look carefully in Dublin airport, at the queue for Ryanair flights there's almost always someone weeping and begging not to be made go on it, so I'd probably not pay too much attention.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,368 ✭✭✭thelordofcheese

well it is ryanair, they have good reason to be weeping and begging not to be made go on it.

That was going to be my point. If you listen carefully you can hear them yelling I'll pay the extra -- quid to fly Aer Lingus just don't make me fly Ryanair!

I have no problems with flying myself so I'd call them a muppet and go on the flight anyway.

Seriously I would savage them if they did that.It would get me and them in trouble with the security.

well chances are, if i'm about to get on a plane with a friend, we are going on holidays (something we are exceited about and wouldnt want to miss and wouldnt ruin for the sake of a piss-take prank) so if they started screaming and going ape, firstly - i wouldnt see the point of leaving them and going alone and secondly - it would freak me out quite alot.

I just found out today that my flight to Poland next week is Ryanair :(

    Well at least it's cheap...

(if you see no more posts by me after next Friday you'll know why...)

I'd be fairly concerned if it was one of the pilots.

I'd probably get on the plane, I can't leave my luggage unattended on a flight now, can i? What would happen to all of my fashioable clothes without me there to pick them up?
Ah yeah, what's the worse that could happen-die?ah yeah well it's going tp happen someday anyway why not on a plane.
Why not on a plane? Because it's one of my all time biggest fears, dying like that. :(

Only if one of the pilots or engineers was screaming it. What the f**k does anybody else know?
