    i want a domain that has expired

    Status: REDEMPTIONPERIOD
    EPP Status: redemptionPeriod
    Updated Date: 07-Oct-2006
    Creation Date: 01-Sep-2005
    Expiration Date: 01-Sep-2006

    whats the best thing to do here .. if i submit a purchase request will the old 'domain squatter' not be informed (leaving him to register it again)

    If it's in redemption the former owner may still renew it. You could try clubdrop or similar to "catch" the domain when it is released
