Anyone know why the Omniplex are not showing the Departed?

    Very strange.

The new manager there has started to exercise a certain degree of cenorship so I've heard. First on the chopping block are movies that use the C-word frequently.

It's a ****hole of a cinema anyway. Completely overpriced (€9 at the weekend!) and the sound quality is often atrocious.

 That's fairly shocking. There are reasons films come with ratings after all.

Not really. The entire WardAnderson group (Savoy, Screen, Omniplex etc) don't seem to be showing this movie. Uncertain as to why - it seems to be a distribution thing more than anything else.

It would be shocking if it were true. I was just taking the piss.

I'd say it's a distribution thing. Some cinemas don't get some films because of issues with the distributors.

I rang the cinema in Waterford last week and asked if they were showing it. They said no. I asked were the work experience people running the show these days? She said head office like to see how it does in other cinemas first. Scorsese, Di Caprio, Nicholson, Damon, Wahlborg, Sheen, Baldwin, Winstone,...yeah that has flop written all over it.

Damn fooled again! Rats. This is why people should use the roll eyes smilie...
