There are two deadlines to keep your eye on when you're in first year - the one that is ending this Friday (see the information you have received from Rob via the SU President on Monday) and another one the first friday of term (the 12th of January). If you wish to apply for a transfer at any time, you need to contact your tutor. If you haven't done so, or you don't know who it is, log in to here.

You'll need the points for whatever course you want to transfer into, and there needs to be a free spot for you too. If you are going by the later date, you will need to meet someone in the department/school to talk about you transferring, but all this means is that they are trying to assess why you wish to transfer, and whether you will be able to continue the subject having missed up to three months. I transferred from TP to engineering on the latter date several years ago by the way.

So you'd be thrown right into the rest of the classes with everyone else. If you get in, talk to some of the lecturers about getting notes or just talk to random people in the class who might give you some notes. As for any tutorials/labs/essays you'll have missed, well you'll probably be told what the situation is with them.

So the simple answer is that it is upon you to catch up! It's only week 2, so it is hardly too late to catch up on anything.
