    media centre edition .if anyone has it on thier pc is it as visualy the same as xp home or pro?
    and whats all the advantages . read the microsoft bull praising it but we all know never belive what you read there.dave.

    Visually the same as home, has a new theme n some media extras... Media Center itself is the main difference...

    Just got mine setup yest n its pretty slick...

    as said above, visually it is exactally the same. i found it just comes with even more crap that ill never use. Ive used MCE once, and didnt really like it. If its for htpc it will be nice. But its on my laptop. Dunno why sony stuck it on it tbh :/

    I always turn off all the Xp theme & visual effects. Minimalist looks much better IMO

    MCE is fantastic for tv recording / playback. The rest of the stuff it does is better done with other software. So it's really only of practical use for a HTPC. I have a dedicated HTPC for mp3/tv/holiday snaps, home movies and every Futurama /simpsons episode. For that dedicated use, it is ideal.
