i have the free version of avira anti virus but im strongly considering udgrading to the personal edition which costs €20.
however i have spybot s&D & adaware as well and have not had a virus in a long time, so im looking for advice on whether i should spend the money on the personal edition

    thanks,

    gar

Spybot and adaware won't prevent any viruses, it will keep away the spyware/malware though.
If you don't have any viruses yet, then go by if it's not broken then don't fix it. :) Save your money and stick with the free edition imo, it does the trick.

I thing the free avg antivirus is the best you can get ,look at www.grisoft.com, update it weekly,or use auto update. Its free ,personal edition ,you,ll need a firewall too.Theres plenty of free ones, like Zonealarm.
