    Hey folks,

Recently installed Vista in work and it seems I cannot ssh out. When I had XP I was able to do this no bother. i have added port 22 and putty to my firewall allow list and I still cannot access it.

    Any ideas?

Also, I am unable to use firefox but I am thinking once this issue is resolved, the firefox one should follow

You shouldn't have to add port 22 to your firewall allow list unless there are supposed to be incoming ssh connections AFAIK

You probably shouldn't be running Vista in a production environment yet. That being said, I was playing with it a few weeks ago, and had some problems where applications that run perfectly in XP wouldn't work correctly in Vista. perhaps Vista isn't completely compatible with Putty? Try a different SSH client and see if that makes a difference.
