My dads just told me that at lunch time today, an old lady with 2 burly body guards either side of her was walking up Grafton Street handing €20 notes to everyone, he said the notes were real and there was no sign of an advertisement of any sort...

Can anyone shed any light on this please????? Or did anyone else see this??

Yeah, allegedly she is giving away all her money before she gets too old. I dont think she has any family to leave it to.

Re-enactment of Roald Dahl's Henry Sugar perhaps.

I saw her. She was dressed all in black, had sunglasses & a massive sun hat on and one of her minders was holding a big black umbrella over her. She wasn't handing out money willy-nilly, when I saw her she was stopping well-dressed middle-aged women for a chat. I thought she was doing PR or marketing for one of the shops.

Grafton st? Well that's bloody stupid.
Why give free money to tourists or upper-end shoppers?
Surely O'Connell st or Talbot st would have been more appropriate.
Or how about just giving it to decent charities.
Sounds like a desperate plea for attention.

Yeah why didn't she just give it to charity? Muppet.

Maybe she thought it was safer up there if she had a lot of money to give out.

    Charity thing would've been better

She probably didn't want to give it to scumbags who'd try and stab her. I wouldn't either.

But I agree, charities would have been a better idea. Sounds like a gimmick or media stunt.

Perhaps not everyone is as pedantic as yourself?

It is part of a company promotion. Calls were made to a radio station during the week about it.
