Mapping Network Drives Not working

Got new HDs in work on the network so we now have a D and E drive.

We moved inormation from D to E.

We tried to map the N:\ drive from D to E and to the folder inside E we had the files stored.

Thing is everytime you log off the path is lost and the N:\ maps to a different folder which messes up file paths for the likes of CAD.

    Any one got any ideas?

First off, the obvious one... did you select "reconnect at login" when mapping the drives?

Failing that, the only reason it would map to something else instead of just losing the connection that I see is if there is something running at startup (possibly a batch file) that assigns N to something else.
Try mapping the share to another drive letter, and see if it holds.

Yeah it has reconnect at login ticked.

I'm not sure about the batch file. How would I check that out?

I was told there wasnt and I'll I had to do was remap the drives by the person who installed them. He is back in this afternoon so I'll ask him again.

The batch file will run at startup, so take a look at msconfig (type it into the "Run" box on the Start Menu)

Did you try mapping to another drive to see if it sticks?

    That MSCONFIG thing didnt work

Thats not an option as all the file paths will be lost for cad so we need to keep the orginal file paths

Yeah, i understand, but just try it to see if the mapping sticks... ie if it's a problem with the mapping in general, or just with mapping to the N drive.

What do you mean it didn't work? Was there no batch files, could you not get in,what?
