    Greetings,

Had enough of BT broadband at this stage, after never receiving one correct bill off them and constantly getting overcharged I've decided to move on. They're just impossible to deal with.

So question is, who is my best option for the change over. Who out there is reliable and capable of sending out bills and not over charging me every single time?

I was thinking about going for NTL's 6mb option. I'm in Finglas so just want to hear any suggestions for the best company to go with next. Also how long would it take for each company to set me up and get me running. I really want to bounce my modem off a BT billing managers head very soon.

I'm in Finglas too, I have 2MB DSL from Digiweb, 29.95 euro per month with a free wireless router, with the invoice emailed to you every month.
I get good speeds, reliability is reasonable, it's never broken down totally but it does get the occasional slowdown and weak signal strength.
I find it pretty good for torrents, online FPS, general surfing. 20GB (upload+download) cap per month is the only big drawback.

Smart offer 3Mb (6Mb if your line supports it) including line rental at €35 per month, no caps or hidden ifs, ands or buts, apart from the fact that there was an extra up-front charge for the wireless router.

I have this for the last 6 months and I can't fault it; uploading, downloading, or working from home.

Are BT really that bad ?
There is a BT package someone is looking at 35 euros a month , free national calls , and 1 MB broadband .
Price seams reasonable to me ,is there something i am missing about BT.
The alternative is Eircom, who charge 45 euos a month for same package ?

Liam, could you post some pings and/or traceroutes to a few Irish and UK sites?

yes but you never know what will happen with Smart, considering the recent shenanigans that have happened with them.
