Intel update

I'm using a macbook and had no problems at all.

But I downloaded the new update 2 weeks ago or so, and didnt even notice any changes.

Then yesterday or the day before the fans just kept spinning, so I looked it up and that was part of the upgrade.

Now the fans spin all the time, make a fair amount of noise and halved my battery life!!!

There was no problems with the fans or overheating before that.

Does anyone know how to disable this without having to stop upgrading altogether?

Sorry if this was covered already, I only had a quick glance through the topics.

    Don't have a MacBook myself.

Try resetting your PMU (power management unit). I've heard this solves the problem you describe, where after an update the fans spin too much.

I'm sorry but I don't actually know how to reset the PMU, as I've never had a problem, so I haven't had to do it. I seem to recall you have to press down one (or several) keys. Should be covered in help or google for it. I'm too lazy. :D

Havnt tried it yet, but the problem hasnt come back so far. I'll try it next time tho, thanks for the help
