OK so i downloaded two demos there the other day.

Phantasy star universe......tried for over an hour to connect to the server to play but didn't connect once

Splinter cell...tried for half an hour so far and no dice.

I am connected as I can download stuff but is there anything that would be blocking me playing online?????

My router or something. My 360 is wired to a router

My xbox live is screwed up. Downloading demos takes ages now for some reason. When I start playing a game off the dvd drive the download will stop, then start again 2 minutes later, then stop after 30 seconds, then start again 2 minutes later...

I left it on when I was out once downloading a demo and it took bloody years to get to 78%, started playing a game and the stopping and starting crap happened again. Then finished playing the game and the download went back to 0%

I will definitely let my gold membership lapse if this sh1t continues unless of course it is my own fault cos i have a badly configured network or something

PSU is recieving a massive amount of players for a limited amount of slots, so you're just going to have to keep trying untill you get a slot.

The SC demo has something seriously wrong with it, there is the same reports of connection trouble all over the internet :/

Sounds like a network problem on your end TBH. I've been having no trouble recently and I haven't heard any other similar complaints on other boards.

Its not Microsofts fault, the PSU servers are completley seperate and its up to ubi to ensure their demos are bug free.

Why does it stop and start when I'm running games off the dvd drive if it's just a network problem? It doesn't stop and start when I'm playing demos off the hard drive.

well at least it aint my 360 or network by the soundsof it.

PGR3 also makes my blood boil as does hold 'em poker; i tried so so many times to connect to games my friend is hosting but with no success.

Yet other people in foreign countries and I have no probs.

It does it for anything I'm downloading whenever I'm playing any game off the dvd drive. Has been doing it for a good few weeks now. Would it be a problem with the console?

Are your ports open in you router?

Mabye try connecting the 360 straight to the modem to rule out any router problems

Sounds like it could be, are your ports open?

It's a disaster, downloaded two Demos(Fifa 07 and Smackdown v Raw 07) last week, took about 3- 3 and a half hours each. Is it Eircom's fault, with their fast (sarc) download speeds...lol

Go to "test network connection" then see what it says beside "NAT", if it says OPEN its all good if not, u need to open ports or something!

Sounds to me like your NAT is set to strict, I had the same problem, as PGR3 when a NAT is open is flawless.

Select your router there (or one close to it) and just follow instructions.

If its not there just post what router you have and someone will be able to help.

I wouldn't bother trying it tonight as Live is offline for all of today for some upgrades.

Haven't said yet, looks like it will be features for Xbox.com and not dashboard updates :(
