    Hi Guys,

Don't expect Eddie Hobbs to cover this one, thinking of spoiliing myself with a US bike holiday next year. Searched through some bike mags, some good offerings out there, e.g.
    http://www.eaglerider.com/tours_guided.html

In particular the guided tours look good; guide with support vehicle for luggage, max of 15 in a group ( don't have any biker mates :( ).

Would be interested in hearing peoples opinions & thoughts, in particluar:
    - anyone done some bike riding in the US before? good or bad?
    - any other tours, options people know of?
    - In general it seems to be Harley's. I'm a medium experienced rider (Bandit 600, for 6yrs, approx 10K miles), is a fat boy or road king going to be a bit much? It should be pretty relaxed cruising on nice wide american roads...

    Thanks.

i rented a harley in sanfran last year, & boy was it a blast. i would definately recommend it, thought i was on highway 1 north of san fran which is the windiest road i have ever been on & a heritage softail classic is not designed to turn :)

dont worry about the bike, they are oretty easy to get used to but they are heavy & low speeds & tight corners will not be your friend

This is highway 1 (i would love to do it again on a buell :))

....mmmm, I too wondered why Eddie Hobbs didn't cover it, ...

    How about New Zealand?

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

Been to NZ, but without a bike. Would be a top destination for biking, but would need more time, min 3-4 weeks I think. Also I have some airmiles clocked up which will get me to the US west coast, South Africa, but not as far as Auz or NZ :)
