What websites would you log onto daily looking for national and international news. In other words what sites do you find best for navigation, layout, up to date news. Just dawned on me how poor the design of some of the Iirish sites are, like RTE, Irish Times, Indo etc.

breakingnews.ie - clean, up the minute, not great with facts or content though. Has very annoying ad's sometimes.
news.BBC.co.uk or RTE.ie / aertel.ie - very biased but content is decent enough, when taken with a pinch of salt
theregister.co.uk - for technology, and for BOFH:)

rte.ie/news for the more reputible Irish news
    news.bbc.co.uk for UK/International news
breakingnews.ie for fast and dirty information, as Karoma says, not always spot-on though.
Ireland.com for, well... daily newpaper-type news
    theregister.co.uk for tech/web news
    eurogamer.net for Gamer news
sluggerotoole.com for NI-focused news and analysis
    Irishelection.com for Irish political analysis
Guardian.co.uk for UK news, especially media

I don't think Irish websites are all that bad; RTE.ie doesn't have all the bells and whistles of BBC, and a re-design is needed (and coming), but it gets the job done and is easy to navigate.
I think Ireland.com is very well designed, it's a nice balance between newspaper and online structures, and the archive is well worked out. Independent.ie is pretty good for layout too; although not as easy to navigate and the archive is terrible.
