A hand I had recently and a situation where I seem to find myself a fair amount. What to do in a situation where I have top pair with a good kicker and Im getting bet at excessively? The answer is possibly simple and I think I did the right thing.

It really depends on what the villians are like in the hand but without any information I may have bet the flop but check doesn't seem too bad to me. I am fine with call on turn after check, on river it's a fold for me, I highly doubt your ahead after a bet and re-raise on river, my guess is Biggypheel has AK or a set of kings or aces.

Last to act I prefer to bet the flop but I check is fine on a drawless board. I fold river as played.
