Complete with rusty strings and all. That shiny chrome looks out of place if you ask me, where did you find that guitar Fey? Who makes it?

why would you apply those seymour duncan stickers... spoils the photo.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,359 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

It's made by Edwards. Found it on some Japanese website that I can't remember right now :p

And I think they put the stickers there so you know what pickups are in it...

Presumeably its an SRV knockoff, hence the left handed trem.

    SRV-TributeStrat.jpg

Those stickers would have to go!

it's much nicer looking though than the SRV strat. no gold hardware and no huge SRV decal

there's nothing lamer than tribute guitars.nothing

    it screams "fanboy"
don't get me wrong, i love stevie ray, i really do. but ugh.
it would be like me playing my stuff on an airline JB hutto.
ugh ugh ugh. i cringe at the thought.
if you have a relic/tribute guitar and you play out with it, you better be able to play as well as the real deal, otherwise it's LAME LAME LAME.

    ugh.
plus with no decal, unrelic'd chrome, no authentic srv stickers, and wood colouring that doesn't look like first wife, it's butt ****ing ugly too.

    no thank you.

Fey, if you do this to me again on a Monday morning, I will kill you.

    :)

I totally agree here. How the hell are people going to pay hundreds of thousands of EUUUUURO for copies of my guitar when I die if I use a copy of some other dude's guitar. Aaaaaaahhhhh yeah, think about that one :p

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,968 ✭✭✭jcoote

i agree there too its hard to play a sig without being branded/expected to play the artist material or styles/techniques.

I'd love an eric johnson strat but i don't play anyhting like johnson (not many do) and it'd just be a waste

also i don't like the op strat or srv's for that matter.

under it all they are stll sunbursts :p

You can blame the good Doctor. He told me to do it!

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,592 ✭✭✭Ancient1

Just play what you like, end of story.

I don't think an EJ Strat would be a waste in my hands! In fact, no Strat is a waste in my hands, even though I don't know how to play. :p

a sig strat is different from a tribute strat.
a sig strat with certain features is fine, i don't have a problem with that. but when you get a tribute strat that's recognisable and has that artist's name on the front... that's really lame unless you are in a hardworking tribute band for a living, or really have your chops down.

Now wait a minute.....are you sure you want to damage foreign relations like that by firing 'the American guy'? One who has access to more Strats than you've ever seen in your life? :)

    My Store

Those 20-foot high photos are (left to right) Page, Hendrix, Beck, and Stevie.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,968 ✭✭✭jcoote

was that a wrong link rustar...whos this american guy with all the strats

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,217 ✭✭✭Rustar

No, it's just a link to my local store. :)

But inside that store is hundreds of guitars, dozens and dozens of Strats, Teles, LPs, and others. I think about 20 pages back somewhere I posted pics of the inside of a Guitar Center.

With those huge posters of the guitar heroes (and all the yummy strats inside), it's almost like walking into a church!

    Quite right.
Nothing wrong with an Eric Johnson or an Eric Clapton strat or whatever - in fact you'd have to examine it very closely to tell it wasn't a bog standard strat.
I think it's really only the SRV that has the stoopid looking initials on the front ?
