Well you can forward it to a gmail account and use that in outlook express. I have a few emails forwarded to gmail then outlook express just checks gmail and downloads all my email. Easy enough to do. Do it all in gmail, there's a guide on your gmail account with all the pop/smtp information as well

Its not pop3 but you can access your dcu email from an email client like outlook. These are the settings I use:

    Account type: IMAP/SMTP

    Incoming mail server: mail.dcu.ie
    Ougoing mail server: stumail.dcu.ie

The DCU mail server does run POP3 as well. Same server names for incoming and outgoing. mail.dcu.ie

I'd like to use gmail to view my dcu mail (as a backup as much as anything else). I can copy all my emails from my DCU mail but this strips out the attachments. I'd like to use POP3 to get dcu mails into my gmail account. I've gone to the Settings in gmail where it allows me to set this up but I don't know what to enter when I am asked for the "port"

Can anyone tell me what this number should be?

Just autoforward everything from you're DCU mail, in DCU mail go to preferences > mailbox > autoforward all mail to: randomusername @gmail.com. then in Gmail you can set it up so you can e-mail people from gmail using your DCU email address by going to settings > accounts > add another email address you own
