they probably won't decide or announce that until the 3-4 weeks before the launch when everything is more set in stone (hardware numbers, software available and most importantly public interest).

I'm sure either Game or Gamestop will though, even if it's just to get one up on the competition by selling as soon as they can.
They'll advertise it in store either way.

As much as I want a Wii and as much as I've always loved gaming, I have never and will never bother my arse into a midnight launch, sure, if you've pre-booked it, it's going to be sitting there for you the next day.

To answer your question, I think HMV's are into that sort of thing, but I'm not a Dubliner so I couldn't be exactly sure, best bet is to ring the one on Grafton Street and see what their plan is (Can't see it happening for a Nintendo console though).

Wouldn't be arsed going to it though, as was said, It'll still be there in the morning, and I generally go out Thursday nights

Depending on the demand you will probably see Gamestop on Henry St. open, and perhaps one or two others too, depending on demand, just get them to put it into a plain bag or some scumbag will half inch it from you on the walk to the bus stop!

I'll be there for midnight opening, Gamestop on Henry St. doing the honours.

Leaving for England on the Friday so I want to get as much play time as possible.

Have you heard they're doing one freak scenery, or is it a bit of speculation?

HMV will, GAME will, Gamestop probably will. But to be honest, a midnight trip into town isnt my cup of tea. Apart from the fact that i wouldnt have a way home (live in Balbriggan), every copy of Zelda isnt going to disappear off Dublins shelves in 24 hours... ill be outside Smyths at 9/10 on the 8th.

That said, say hi to the person next to you in whatever queue you're in... odds are they'll be a Boards.ie user :)

Gamestop Henry St. are definetly doing the midnight opening; at least that's what they told me.

    Hopefully Shigsy will be there.

*imagines the pain involved in getting home from Dundrum after a midnight opening*
I sincerely hope it's only the city centre branches doing a midnight opening!

heading into limerick city centre wouldnt be a problem its just i've mine preordered and dont see the point

The midnight opening will probably be planned quite late in the day so if you simply ask a member of staff closer to the launch date then they will have an answer, preordering, phoning the previous day to ensure your machine is physically there and then calling in at your leisure on launch day to pick it up would seem to be the best way to do it.
