NetMeeting cannot share Desktop

    Hi,
    I have a problem here.
Microsoft netmeeting will not allow me to share the desktop, or indeed, anything! it will connect fine, but the share option is greyed out.

all the settings, the few that there are, seem fine. no firewall up, it works on other machines on the LAN, just not this one PC. basically, its defo something to do with the PC in question.

Google gave one answer, that it might be related to desktop sharing being enabled. I disabled it, still no change, then re-enabled it and it gave me some mumbo jumbo about windows firewall blockin it!! feckin windows firewall is defo 100% disabled!

can anyone shed any light on this for me, PLEASE!!

    thanks.

With the firewall enabled did you try adding Netmeeting to the exception list ?

Does Windows Live Messenger work as that's what replaced Netmeeting it would be interesting to see if that has no problem.

Other than that no idea what could be the cause.

Everything, Netmeeting has been phased out entirely in favour of Messenger. Netmeeting has been integrated in a fashion into Messenger so it is in a way the same program just a newer version.

Probably not though I cannot say for certain as it has been such a long time since I have ever used Netmeeting.

If it is possible the best place to look would be this site which seems to have a lot of tips & tricks for the program
