To call or not to call

I went for a job interview on Monday 2nd and was told at the end of the (what I thought was a pretty good) interview that they would be contacting people about the positions from the end of the week.

I know they were going to phone the successful people and send letters to those who weren't successful. As yet I've received neither a phone call or a letter.

Do you think I should ring them up later today and ask are they still contacting successful candidates or should I just let it lie? I must point out that this job is my dream job and I would really love to get it but I don't want to come across as desperate either.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Call...if a company is unsure about a certain 2 or 3 people and you call. It shows your very eager to get the job..
I do a few interviews here and i'd be impressed...that is if HR told me you called.

I'd call if I were you tSubh Dearg. A phone call shows your interested and may push you slightly ahead of other undecided candidates.

Thanks for the advice guys. I called earlier and was told that they've not finished getting back to all the successful candidates yet. So I live in hope for that elusive call later today or next week.
