Heya, I'm currently waiting on my test so I can avail of a classic insurance policy to insure my '83 VF750f. This is the only way I can afford to get my leg over legally as I also gotta keep a car on the road. I've been a very bad boy for a long time and the time has come to stop messin. Had some boxes in the shed belonging to the guy I bought my house off and he came down to collect em few weeks ago with his brother. The brother lifted tarp on bike and commented on how much he liked it and was askin if I got out much on it...... I know, i know shoulda seen it comin. Explained how I only go out for a tear on sun mornings when it's quiet so as to avoid the attention of the filth. Guy looks at me strange and informs me he has a bike a little similar, only his has blue flashing lights on it!!!!
I'm wondering what age a bike needs to be to qualify for as a classic. I'm bein very tempted by a mates '86 gixer and I'm also in the middle of an '89 Vmax rebuild, although it'll be at least a year till thats complete, also are you still limited to 33bhp for two years if your ridin a classic???? Cheers.........

Any bike over 15 years old will get classic insurance. There is a catch though. You need a full licence and one years NCB with Carol Nash.

They told me slightly different, they told me if I had a full licence for 1 year that they'd offer classic cover, however they then changed their minds and gave me classic a few weeks after passing my test. They have grey areas in that company, sure different people give different quotes and everything!
