DS: Too many games - not enough time!!

I picked up my DS about 2 months ago and am about to embark on a round the world trip (my excuse to buy one).

I've had this nasty habit since of buying every game that looks good because I keep saying "well, better get the games while I'm here before I'm travelling and broke".

Needless to say I now have a ton of games and keep bouncing between them.

Anyone else have a similar problem?

Out of these what would you prioritise:

DS: Metroid: Hunters, Mario Kart DS, Dragon Quest: Rocket Slime, Phoenix Wright (what I seem to play most), Advance Wars: DS, M&L:Partners in Time,
GBA: Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, Castlevania: Double Pack, Mario Tennis Power Tour, Zelda: Minish Cap, Final Fantasy IV

Also - what would suit a 16 hour flight? Any game up there un-put-down-able for a 16 hour flight for someone who cannot sleep on planes?

I've way more handheld games than you in my to play pile. It's all the GBA's fault, why did they release so many excellent games on it.

As for games that will keep your attention for the 16 hours I'd recommend Zelda and Castlevania. I'd sell FFTA since it's a steaming pile of rubbish and is only exceptional in that a game bearing the Final Fantasy Tactics badge can actually be so dull.

Aye - I've seen you rate FFTA on other threads - you really hated it didn't you.

I've not even taken it out of its packaging but I'm still surprised because it got some decent reviews - I suppose you can't always trust reviews...

More or less the same problem here, only it's a case of "so many games, not enough cash!" :(

Going to buy a new DS/GBA game is a real pain because there's just too much to choose from.. I've resorted to flipping coins in order to speed up the process :)

For a long haul flight -- not sure how much you've played so far, but Partners in Time has about ~25 hours in it and just keeps getting better as you go. Has helped me out on many a Donegal to Dublin journey and I'm not quite finished yet.

I got back from LA a couple of weeks ago and Aer Lingus had some reasonable movies on the tube to watch.

I also had my DS. I bought a Flash cart to store games so I could have a few games on just a GBA cart and loads of GBA games.

I played Super Street Fighter II the most probably. I don't think you'll be in the mood for anything hectic to be honest. I'd bring Advance Wars because you can relax when playing it because it's turned based. Mario Kart and Phonix Wright are good aswell, slow gameplay or just amusing games are best.

Hunters isn't entertaining on a long flight IMO.

    Same problem myself!

...and I just got Starfox Command and Clubhouse Games from the states!

To be honest, you don't really need anything else apart from these two on a long flight - Starfox is blowing my mind right now with the amount of fun I'm having :)

    It's a great problem though..... :)

I'd recommend Advanced wars, I really got hooked into that for hours. But you have such a large collection that when you get bored you can just move on.

I have recently finished AWDS and have been playing Mario Kart pretty solidly, what other games would ye recommend to pick up?

I've got quite a lot of DS games and in all honesty, I think Starfox Command is the best game on the system! No bull! There's nothing bad about it and the online 4-player deathmatches are fantastic!...though I'm not getting as many wins as I'd hope for yet but there's always more practice to be had in the single player game.

I have to agree that there are loads and loads of new and not so new games that I have yet to play properly that are simply brilliant.

Ooh, yes, get rid of FFTA and buy FIRE EMBLEM!
Oh my god, it's one of the best games I've ever played.
I prefer the first one over the second one, but probably only because Lyndis is so fine.

Everything about it oozes quality. The controls are perfect. The story is great. The progression system rocks. The battles are beautiful - It's my favourite sprite animation ever.

    Quoted for truth.

Fire Emblem is so much better than FFTA. Buy bought of them now and get the Gamecube game as well. It still amazes me that FFTA got so many good reviews. Then again FFVIII and FFX-2 got good reviews and they weren't great.
