    hi
basically my sister is looking for a program to print timetables for her transition year project, she wants to fill a page with timetables and be able to print them out at an exact size (57 x 22 mm). And be able to edit them easily as she has to print a few hundred. I have tried excel but it wont print to the exact size.
Thanks for any sugestions in advance

I have tried word but i cant get it to print lots of them on the page and still get them 57 x 22 because the writing size 8 will not make a table that small

can you post an example of one timetable and will see what can be done to squeeze it into 57mm x 22mm ......

    That's 57mm high and 22mm wide? .....

You can manually 'over-write' the font-size (e.g. highlight 11 and type in 7) in the little box in both Word and Excel, not sure if it is still readable when printed though.

Alternatively, try either Outlook's Calendar, or rather: get Mozilla Sunbird, which is similar to it.

    now that's a cute trick ..... :)

but as you say, how the heck do you read it .....

    (and you can make it a lot bigger than 72 ..... nice !!! .... :p )

    Print it out...

Is the problem with the tables printed, that the text is small but big white space between the cells?

If so, you can adjust the column widths and squish the cells with smaller text closer together.

Another option now that I think of it, is to put 1 table per page, and use the printer options to print out 12 pages per page.

How would i make sure that they were exactly 57 x 22 mm, they have to be exact as they are for a keyring

depending on the version of ms word you have ... you might be able to create a custom label page ... and invent a label size to suit the keyring size

i don't have word on my mac anymore ... but i think Tools, Envelopes & Labels is what you need ... pretty sure you can create labels to the exact mm size

there is also an option here to print just one label, or a page of the same label ... hope this helps.

tools > letters and mailings > envelopes and labels

lots of options re qty per page and size ....

another trick is to use pdfcreator or pdf995 etc. to convert the file to a .pdf
then acrobat reader printer settings can put more than one on a page

For better readability, you should also 'center' the text in each box. Rightclick it and do it per field, or for the whole table.
