The World Premiere of John Boorman’s new film, The Tiger’s Tail, will take place in the Savoy cinema, Dublin on the 22nd of October, and tickets, at €20, are available for those wishing to attend this gala event.

    Poster Art (Word File)

The film tells the story of Liam O’Leary (Brendan Gleeson) an Irish property developer of humble origins who has made it big and fast on the back of the Celtic Tiger. His hubris has led him into a scheme to build a national stadium, but a rival developer, has connived to thwart his plans.

Wildly over extended, Liam finds himself struggling in a receding market. Stressed and over-stretched, he seems on the verge of a mental breakdown when, to his horror, he sees his Double. Is this a harbinger of his death? His neglected wife, Jane (Kim Cattrall), is distressed by his erratic behaviour and treats his claim to have seen his Double as an hallucination. When Liam confronts his Doppelganger and discovers a shocking truth he is forced to ask the question – ‘who am I’?

This moving and affecting story receives its WORLD PREMIERE in a glamorous red carpet screening at the Savoy Cinema, in aid of the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association (IMNDA) on October 22nd. This event will be attended John Boorman, Brendan Gleeson, Kim Cattrall and other key cast and film makers.

Anyone wishing to attend the premiere should call the IMNDA on 1800-403-403 (9.00am-4.30pm)and ask for Derbhla or Luke. Please visit www.sansebastianfestival.com or www.imnda.ie for more details on the film.

It is a bit, but Brendan Gleeson is Filming Harry Potter the next day, Kim Cattrall has a play in London and many of the crew are begining filming another film. I'll have to check on Monday, but tickets may be gone. I'll keep you posted!
