Speed bumps

I had a theory that if I ever came a cropper on the bike that it would be because of a Peugeot 206cc. Its not so much that they have the worst drivers but the best looking ones. If they have a female driver they are generally gorgeous and the temptation to engage in a bit of rubbernecking while filtering is sometimes difficult to ignore - but we do our best.

Now I've changed my mind. I'm convinced that those speed bumps where there are several individual bumps across the road as opposed to one continuous one will be the death of me. The number of drivers who swerve to the middle of the road in an attempt to straddle the speed bump is incredible. Do they check their mirrors or blindspot for filtering motorbikes - not a chance!

Has anybody else notice this - about 206cc or speed bumps?

When I was doing car lessons my instructor told me to straddle the bumps - but to move to the left - not swerve out into the centre.

when I had my last lesson, I was told to go on the outside of the bump (on the wicklow test route there are 10 small ones in a row)

as for 206 drivers, I think there more chance of them crashing into you as they look in there mirror and start flicking their hair, then doing their make up, then back to their hair again, how many bloody times can you flick your hair

I happen to be both a biker and a car driver and it just so happens that my car is a 206 but as a biker (spend most of my time on the bike but it isnt always practical) I have a great awareness of other bikers when Im in the car.Thing is that I find that there are a lot of suits on these new 250 scooters and little pricks on mopeds who abuse bikes and act like **** and when I see them doing it especially when im on the bike id love to punch them! But to be honest I think the worst people on the road are people in mercs.Big fat f#@kers who think they own the road cz theyre in a 60 grand car.And of course it gets ten times worse when the big fat f#@kers are replaced by stupid old bitches who can barely see over the wheel. Not that they should ever need to as the rest of us should simply get out of their way when we see them comming!

Yea but he's right to be. :D

I saw a real beaut yesterday - stuck in my cage between Blackrock and the N11 - I see a bike in my wing mirror (Bandit I think) making his way up along the line of traffic. He was moving along at a safe speed - next think this gimp on a scooter comes up behind him and overtakes him -- no gloves, open hi-viz vest flying all over the place. So basically as the bike was passing me, this ejit was overtaking the bike, hairdryer up to the max. Up ahead a red light. If I had been that biker I would have given him a roasting at the lights. Muppetus extremis.
