Tournament Hand

Sporting Emporium Wednesday night scalps game. 3000 chips for first buy in - 4000 chips for a rebuy. 20? minute levels. 35 runners. We're down to the last 6. Five get paid.

Two of the shorter stacks are playing quite tight. Another larger stack is also playing quite tight and the other two players (both boards.ie) are willing to gamble it up a bit and play for the win. The three tighter players aren't really featuring much in the action thus far at all.

    Blinds are 1000 - 2000.

Villain is on the BB - he is one of the boards.ies and is known to be tricky. Villain also knows me and we have a history of big pots with hands full of nothing from previous tournaments. REEDITED FOR BOLD EDIT for stack sizes: Villain has 43000. I cover by a small bit.

One of the tighter players limps UTG. I flat call on the button with 5h6h. SB completes. BB (villain) checks.

    Flop (8000)

    7sKc4c.

    Checked around - I check.

    Turn (8000)

    7sKc4c3c

SB checks. BB bets 6000. EP folds.

    Action please?

Raise: make it 20k and call a shove.

    Sounds about right.

I resent the implication that I in anyway play loose!!!!!

Not with you two maniacs ready to donate anyway!! lol

I was not involved in this hand but I believe Brian was the cutoff and I was the button. SB was ridiculously tight as was one other at the table and there were 233k chips in play amongst the six.

Personally I feel your raise should be at least 15k more on the turn if you are willing to call a shove and as played you have to call a shove I think.

Plus why do you limp with this hand and not bet the flop when you hit a pretty good flop against these players in position?

I like a 20% increase in my stack on that flop thank you very much.

Ok this bit was easy. Except of course that I messed up and only made it 16K total.

Villain thought for a while and flat called. The flat call threw me off. This villain is only too delighted to get his chips in against me when he makes a hand.

    The river was 5c.

    7sKc4c3c5c.

Villain pushed for his remaining 25K.

    Action?

(Olly, to be honest I limped with the hand and checked the flop because I felt that "villain" was way too eager to question the moves I made. Probably a poor excuse, but I'd prefer to have a hand made... even middle pair... before I end up having to call one of his reraises.)

    Shows you what I know,
I would have bet the flop probably pot sized
definatly would have raised the turn more

as played I'd kick meself and fold the river
