    Hey
    little advice here if possible...

Ok here is a diagram of my wireless setup- the internet connection is shared among all the users. But I have no file sharing or printer access or anything like that.network.JPG
Now to get access to the internet on the laptops I simply associated with the SSID and input the WEP key and get access no problems. I have never actually setup a wireless network I could use the windows XP wizard but not sure if it work will right for the setup I have???
Basically what I want to know is…what is the easiest way for me to setup my network to be able to share files on the network and access (if possible) the printer from a machine not directly-connected

    Any idea’s??

ps using eircom netgear wireless router no usb port on the back...

If you're using software firewalls, set it to allow Network Neighbourhood traffic, and File and Printer sharing. If this option isn't explicit in the firewall options, set it to allow all traffic off your local LAN IP range (192.168.x.1-192.168.x.254). You will need to do this on all computers.

On the computer with the printer installed on it, right click on the printer in the Control Panel and Share it. Then, on the laptops if you go to \\PC_NAME or \\PC_IP, you should see the printer available. You can drag and drop this to the Printers panel on the laptops Control Panel, and it should automatically create a link to the printer as long as the laptop is on the network.

On the computer that you want to share folders on, find the folder, right click it and click on Sharing and Security. Click Share this Folder and give it a name. Navigating to the computer from another computer should show you the folder the same way we saw the printer earlier.

To give yourself more control over your printer sharing, you may want to disable Simple File Sharing. You can do this by opening Explorer, opening the Tools -> Folder Options menu, opening the View tab, and unchecking the Use Simple File Sharing (Recommended) box.
