HP PSC 1215 problem

updated computer to xp. the printer has disappeared so downloaded the driver/software but for some reason it cannot detect the printer during setup. i clicked ignore. the printer in printers and faxes isnt there. but i can open hp scanning and scan in something. tried updating / roll back driver but no luck. any suggestions
