    If I was buying a 600mm f4 I wouldn't have enough cash left for a bus home, never mind a lens hood ;)

    Just a thought - you can get thin foam in craft shops - get some in black, stick the template on it and cut it out, staple it, and use a rubber band to hold it on to the lens. I expect that'd look a lot better than a paper/card version.

    Yes, I did watch Blue Peter as a child. Um, teenager.
