this leads me to ask the question as to why somebody who has no problem to pay a big entry to a tourney / sit down with a deep stack in a cash game and clearly has the ability to think straight/analyse situations - potential outcomes etc is too tight to pay an extra few hundred quid for fully comp insurance for his nice flash car?

UL - but remember all clouds have silver linings - u got out alive.

Ah Flipper, no excuse for not having fully comp if you have a decent car. Sorry to hear about it, but at least you weren't injured could've been alot worse.

Btw, if you want to save a few quid on insurance on the next car but still get fully comp try britton insurance who'll sort you out with an excess so you pay the first few K if you have any damage but your premium will be alot lower.

Don't listen to them flipper - Insurance companies have +EV, hence the premium payers have -EV, bad beat but good call all the same

    1. They don't offer comprehensive insurance on 2.0L BMWs to 23 year olds with 6 points on their license.
    2. This could almost be a topic for another thread. I probably wouldn't shell out €3-4K for Comp insurance anyway. I treat money the same as anyone else - ie. I try to spend the least amount possible. Just because I play higher stakes doesn't mean I'm frivolous with money in every day life. It just so happens that money is the "tool of the trade" I try not to even see it in it's everyday value - try to see it more like confetti.

But thank you guys for the kind words.

You're some luckbox getting out of that alive, I'd say you're shocked to ****! €28k gone and all that but money doesn't matter a ****e when it comes down to it, plus you'll make it back in a good week in the omaha game. :)
