Anyone seen the promo and more importantly, when does it air properly and will it be FTA?

Yes seen promo on two or three sats. I havn't looked for a while.

Probabily FTA on Hotbird anyway.

I don't know when it really starts.

I have heard that it will be on Sky EPG when launched so therefore on astra/eurobird somewhere. WIll be good station by looks of all their recruiting, News channels don't seem to get the wow as usual new channels!

The station apparently has lots of problems and has been subject to many delays.

I emailed them to ask for news of their launch, but got no reply.

Seems that 1st November is rumoured now, looks likely to be a good channel with all the staff they have poached from other staff, see David Frost on the team now!
Gas how most people seem to think its some dodgy small station that shows Bin Laden statements only!

This is Al Jazeera English right?? I picked this station up about 2 months ago while peeping through Hispasat @ 30° West, on the Lidl 80cms Dish and Comag FTA Receiver. Looked good however the wind blew the dish down as I hadn't it fixed permanently.

Fair and Balanced like Fox? I wonder from one extreme to another I guess, give me Anne Doyle and the middle of the road any day!!

It should be noted that most Arab states want to close Al Jazeera down, not just Bush. That says something abouot how balanced they might be.

Ummm but then again "most Arab states" arent noted for their commitment to liberal democratic values like free speech and the right to criticise the government/established religion

I reckon we should wait and see what Al Jazerra is like before rushing to judgment.

I have just taken another peep at this and the same Promotional thing is running on Hispasat at 30° West. It looks like it will be a great channel when it launches, as for my earlier comments about"fair and balanced" I will give them the benefit of the doubt until I get to see the finished product.

Promo is running on Eurobird 1 I think, have it on FTA box.
