    Hi,

I've been caught out a number of times recently when after flopping a good draw, i've given cheap cards in an attempt to draw action from other players. Two hands in particular annoyed me and i was wondering if ye could offer any advice on playing these.

Both occured .25/50c N/L 6 Max on Full Tilt

    Hero SB - Button $35 A7 os
    Villian BB - $20
    Button - $25

(The table had been playing extra tight prior to this, small raises with good hands got no action so was keen to try and draw some action (mistake???))

    No raises preflop.

    Flop Q77 -
    Hero - check
    Villian - Raise to 50c
    Button - Folds
    Hero - Flat call

    Turn - A

    Hero - Check
    Villian - Check

    River - Q

    Bet $2 (too weak??)

    Villian raise to $8

Knowing I'm almost def behind i fold.

I know I didn't lose much but i feel i let this off too light

    Hand 2

Same posititon but different Villian has moved into seat, has been at the table maybe 10 hands and folded against any action.

Folded round to me on SB ($25) make it 75c to go

    BB ($18) calls

    Flop

    3A6

    Hero - Check
    Villian - $1
    Flat call (reraise???)

    Turn - T

    Hero - Check
    Villian - Check

    River - 8 ( a harmless little 8:rolleyes: )

    Hero - raise to $5
    Villian reaise to $11
    Call

    villian turns over 88

    Thoughts?

stop checking when you are ahead.

With no raise preflop isn't it much more likly that he has a 7 in hand 1, not QQ or the two remaining Aces. I would definatly call here and probably push for the last 13.

I would always raise to at least to 2 at that level. & do you mean you made it $1 to go. I don't know where you can raise .25c. That isn't much use here as the result would be the same. I would probably have played it the same hoping to CR the turn, but he didn't oblige.

I try never to give free cards when I think I'm ahead unless I'm pretty sure I know what I'm up against and want them to bluff or catch something. Otherwise there is no point in giving a free card. Betting is a freeroll, you make the same if you bet and they fold as if you check. Plus people dont hit 2 outers for free. But here it looks like you are trying to get him to do the betting for you on the turn which i fine, just didnt work out this time.
