Hey all , just signed up to boards today, have been reading pretty much every post on the poker forum for the last few weeks( at works expense) and only got around to signing up today. Been playing poker for the last 2/3 yrs and thought i was someway decent until i started reading the posts on this site. Never thought it was this technical. My poker experience includes alot of home games,the fitz once or twice, been to vegas twice and play a small bit online. Jimbling is a house mate of mine and have learned a bit from him ( not that, thats saying a whole lot, eh jim).Anyhow really enjoy the advice and the slagging that goes on so just said id introduce myself. Planning on playing a lot more poker in the future both online and in the Macau . Any advice on what limits i should play , bankroll needed( bubkiss at the moment ) etc etc .As i said i have been playing a few years and im not bad (win 55-65% of home games, did pretty well in Vegas and the fitz although i thoght the standard in the fitz wasnt great, alot of loose players calling with complete Sh!te). Anyway thats my sceal

Just try and pick up as much as you can from both playing and reading. If you want opinions on how you played cetain situations then post hand histories here from people to discuss. If you do so try and include all relevant information such as position, stacks, how you perceive the otherss, and how you think they perceive you etc.

As for bankroll, this depends on what type of poker you play. The following is probably good for online starts anyways.

Single Table Tournaments : 30 buyins is a good bankroll. i.e. if you play $5+.50c then $165 is a good bankroll for that. If you drop down to 10 buyins you should move down a level, if you make it to 30+ buyins for the next level you can move up.

For cash games you should have maybe 20 buyins, and always buy in for the max amount.

Welcome to boards, and hopefully you will feel at home, and be wearing your thick skin which may be needed at times.
