Reading boards at work...

So i have just spent the entire day on boards and I was wondering how many other boardsie's do this?

I haven't done a tap of work at all today and haven't even pretended to

I'm in college too. Last year I took a computer class and I would be on boards during the class. I usually don't take my laptop to class with me, so I'm only on when I'm not in class. It wouldn't be hard to be, but I like to try to concentrate in class.

My boss came over while I was reading this thread but I switched to another Firefox tab in time. At work I read boards with sigs and avatars turned off so from a distance it looks like it could be a work-related forum. Must remember not to smile and LOL though.

Sometimes I do and will continue to do so for as long as it lasts. I have been bold by finding my way onto Boards through my work PC as its banned but where theres a will.......;) I also visit another forum, its mainly UK based and I used to spend ages on there while at work. Again I had to find a way around the firewall and it must have been flagged cause as of Monday this week I can't get back into that site:( I don't feel bad about using the net for personal use while at work as my job gets busy in fits and starts and when I'm busy I don't mess around but when its quiet......whats a girl to do *shrugs shoulders*:)

I open FireFox about fifteen minutes before my eight-and-a-half hour shift starts, and close it about ten seconds before it ends.

So, yes, I have Boardsie open all the time I'm in work.

If I'm in the office, I'll usually spend at least an hour of my work day on boards... my work tends to come in bursts of activity followed by a 'down' patch.

I can't access boards.ie at work. Cuz you all say feck and poo and naughty stuff like that so the obscenity filter kicks in and won't let me on!

There's only two boards sites I can actually access at work, so I surf there when time permits at work.

If I could have access to boards.ie, I would deffo be on all day PMing my beloved boards menbers throughout the day and spamming the nest twofold!

I do, but I have to use one of the handy anything.boards.ie aliases to access it, plain old boards.ie is blocked. Worringly, my previous alias is now blocked. What the hey, start new job week after next!

I surf all the time at work. However I'm leaving my current job in 2 weeks to start a new one. I must be stupid.

Same here. One has to be very crafty especially now that I've moved to this new Quad beside the boss. Luckily my peripherial vision has improved and he wears glasses which means that he cannot see out of the corner of his eye unless he givesd a direct stare.

I might install a mirror at this side so as to alert me to any sudden moves.:)

In another job I used to leave an unused monitor beside the one I was using, watch to see who was around me by using the reflection on the scren - think of it as a rear view mirror.

To turn off sigs and avatars, go to User CP, click the "Edit Options" link on the left, scroll halfway down and uncheck the boxes saying "Show Signatures" and "Show Avatars". Save your changes and you're done. I also use a bland-looking skin like "White" so as not to draw attention to myself. Good luck in the new job and keep boardsing it up.

try eee.boards.ie i tired it by accident one day and it worked as the www. version had been blocked and it worked and has done ever since (www. version still doesnt work)

Im back in college so not workin anymore, but while working I was pretty much on boards most of the day, along with Bebo, MySpace, YouTube.... yada yad yada! Most lectures im usually on boards aswell (Im in a lecture right now!)
