Ok sorry, because I know there's a thread on TY work experiance but just wondering has anyone done work experiance with the gardai and is it good? How do you go about getting it? Should I write to the nearest gardai station or is there a main one in town or something, that I should ring up? Really looking for advice on work experiance cos my mam is getting p1ssed off with me for not having it organised!

Why not ask you Year head how you should go about it!!
TBH i doubt you could get work with the gardai but you could ask the superintendant of your local station!

A girl in my class got it, she loved it. They brought her around to various different branches of the gardai, headquarters and all. No idea how she got it, though. Presumably just ringing up, maybe writing letters, that kind of thing. Gardai are meant to be helpful so I'd say they could point you as to where to ask.

A friend of mine did it too. He loved it. Has his heart set on joining the Gardai.
He got it through is dad, who is fairly high up the ranks, but I'd say if you got in contact with a garda you know (uncle, aunt (to be PC:)), neighbour) they might be able to pull a few strings.

    Good luck.
