The MGM Grand. Not that expensive, absolutely brilliant and it's the biggest hotel in the world!!!

I stayed in the Luxor - was fine, nice room, nice buffet, good entertainment. It is at the extreme end of the strip tho

The New York New York is cool, i stayed there a few weeks ago. Booking with the hotel can be expensive but we got a good deal on the internet somewhere...eh cant remember. But google 'cheap hotels las vegas' and a mountain of information will unfold. We got a special upgrade deal for $67 a night, which for the size and quality of the room was fantastic (2 huge double beds, u could fit 4 people easily even with ridiculous amounts of luggage like us!). Just check around a good few sites and compare before booking.

Beware tho Las Vegas is possibly the hottest place on earth. In both my times there its been unbearable!

The stratosphere is really nice. Book the cheapest room they have and then when you get there haggle with them for a cheap upgrade, and they should be more than willing to give a good deal especially if it's off season. I had a great time there (jacuzzi bath was big enough for a football team).

Actually yeah the Stratosphere is good too, its really cheap but its quite far from the centre main strip (at the very end) but there's buses from outside so unless u want to be in the centre of things then you could go for that.
