Probably a bit late but hey.

I am living in Islandbridge at the moment and I am looking for a club to play with. I saw pitches beside me with rugby posts just wondering if there is a club that close to me?

    THanks

I think that could be a G.A.A. pitch.
I'm probably saying the obvious here you'll get a full list on leinsterrugby.ie.
My tip would be to consider a junior club as they are smalled and easier to get people and feel part of the club. Senior clubs have some very coaches and facilities but are bigger, but if you're good, and you are ambitious and want to play at a very high level, it could be a better option.
Most Senior clubs have junior teams which enter the lower leagues. The standard in the lower leagues isn't that bad, unless you are out on the wing, you should a fair amount of the ball.

Most of the clubs on that page will have a contact name/email address and/or a website that might give you more info about training times etc.

I'd suggest you give someone there a shout. I'd say most clubs would love to have a new player down. There are a good few clubs near enough to the city centre so you should be able to find one.

Or if you're interested in a smaller club, consider Unidare RFC! We have a website and a forum if you wish to find out more information about us!

We only have one team in the J4 League. We started the season pretty well; 4 friendlies, 3 Wins, 1 Loss. We are starting the blitzes on Sunday now...

We train on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the DCU Sports Grounds (where the Ballymun Rd starts - check website for directions). It's a great club cos it's small, we take rugby seriously but we also have an enormous amount of fun!

Well seeing as you have been playing for such a long time i take it that you are reltivly good. The top teams in limerick are:Shannon,Garryowen,Young Munster, so if you looking to play at a high standard you should check out those teams. If you dont think your up to that standard you should check out teams like richmond, old cresent,st.senans,bruff.

If your looking to play rugby fairly serious but you dont want to devote every spare minute to it you and your willing to travel try Newcastle West. Its bout 40mins from the city.

What age are you?if your in the underage level Newcastle West have some of the best underage sides in munster.

It all really depends on what level you want to play.

Barnhall RFC is located 10 miles west of you on the N4....the 67 bus to Celbridge that passes right outside your door would get you to within 200 yards of the clubhouse. Trip takes about 30 minutes.

    New players always welcome.

I'm in the same area as you and as they said, Coolmine is out the other side of Phoenix park but Monkstown is a good club depending on where you work. Its on the dart line, just beside sydney parade so very accessible. New players always welcome.

30 minutes if you break every red light and fly past the traffic jams. It's further than 200 yards too, the 66B would be your best bet if you go there.

Fair enough...it's a 41 minute trip, and stay with the 67 bus to Celbridge as it's more regular than the 66b. It's a 8-minute 42 second walk from 67 stop to clubhouse.

If your legs are 44.32inches long, otherwise it's about 10 mins.
