    Hi all

Not sure if this is better in the travel section but anyway..

Can anyone recommend some decent restaurants in New York? Heading over there in Nov and wouldnt mind having a few places sorted. Have been a few times before and usually just wander around until we see somewhere we like. We are staying around Times Square - where obviously the restaurants are more expensive

    Cheers

I ate in Nobu once, best meal of my life. Expensive ($100 or so) but well worth it - if you like fish!

    Book well in advance.

I really liked Les Halles on Park Ave (owned by Anthony Bourdain). Balthazar is meant to be ab fab but v. expensive

If you like steak, head for Smith & Wollensky on the corner of 3rd Avenue and 49th Street.
They have two sections, the main restaurant (entrance on 3rd) and the "grill" (entrance on 49th). The grill is less formal and you won't need a reservation, but the food is the same.
Their pecan pie is the best I've ever tasted.
I make a point of visiting the grill at least once each time I visit New York.

For breakfast or lunch (huge sandwiches) I would recommend the Carnegie Deli on 7th Avenue (near 55th Street).

Good stuff - some good ideas there. I have eaten in Nobu in London so maybe it may be worth a shot in NYK aswell
