Does anyone else here watch this show on rte? I do and I love it. I like anything at all to do with cops. But and theres always a but;) , the one on UTV, I think is absolute rubbish. I don't know why, but it just seems to be really poor when you compare it to the one on rte. I know the characters and that are the same, but still no its awful. Was the bill on rte 1, specifically made for rte or was it for many other stations? That is a question I have been wondering about for ages.

They are the same show- but as far as I'm aware the one on RTE is a few years behind what's currently being shown on UTV.

RTE show it in 30mins episodes - compared to 1 hour on ITV. You might like it because you may be kept is suspense for that little bit longer....

They are the SAME show! RTE are about 3 years off the pace. I agree there are too mnay soap elements these days. Whatever happened to coppers just busting heads and solving crimes eh? :D

What? it's the same show (made for/by utv). Eventually rte will catch up to where utv are now. It's stupid the way they show it. It's filmed and screened as a 1 hour episode and rte just stop after 30 mins and show the rest the following day.

The Bill was great "back in the day"... now it's a poor soap opera as someone posted earlier :(

Lastnight's one on RTE was copyrighted 2001 (We're 5 years behind UTV) and wasn't even in widescreen yet. If RTE thought that many people were watching The Bill it would be up to date and on at a better time than 5.30. Most people who catch the end of it are just hanging in there for the Six One News.

ever consider people prefer the older episodes and that there might actually be people who enjoy it at 5.30. 5 years old does not a **** program make
