Where's best to sit, I've been in the East Lower, 3 times now.

Wondering is the West Upper any good ?

Opted for East Lower, picked up tickets for the HC games

    Leinster v Gloucster - Oct 21st
    Leinster v Agen - Dec 9th

Tickets went onsale online today - here

Can't wait, my first HC game.

Incidently, Final tickets are available now as well - http://www.ercrugby.com/tools/counter.php?id=96 (ticketmaster)

Might be an idea to pick some up early before the madness begins

There was no choice of rows/sections, so It's a bit of a lottery.

The weekender in London sounds like a plan, regardless of who makes the final.

The west upper has thoses horrible RDS style wooden benches, avoid at all costs.

WU also has restricted views due to big metal supports to keep up the roof of the stand.

EL is best, but far enough back to get shelter if it rains.

I was lucky enough to blag a ticket for EL for the Ireland V Australia game a couple of years ago that was a mudbath. The people two rows in front were soaked through before the game even began!

see, i'm a terrace boy. north generally, but for the last game and the next two HC matches, i'm in the south. I enjoy it though, if you pick the right spot you get decent views, and fantastic view of any tries.

Got the tickets today, they state unreserved seats, does that mean I can sit anywhere ?

It's usually the East or South Terrace for me. I think you get a bit more of the atmosphere standing on the halfway line packed in with supporters from both sides. It might also have something to do with being a poor student.

I've watched all sorts of games, everyone from Brazil to the Scarlets play in Lansdowne and have always preferred the terraces. One of my worst experiences was on a freebie trip to see Ireland v France in 6 Nations, sitting in Lower Tier of West Stand surrounded by husbands trying to explain the game to their overdressed wives and not doing a good job of it - although the French people in front of us made up for it, they were all dressed from head to toe in either blue, white or red, didn't really fit in with the rest of the crowd there but definitely made me laugh!
