Using PVA for priming and sealing

    Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone has any opinion on this.

    1. I hear different opinions on what to use to prime new plaster. My brother-in-law always uses diluted PVA. I have used diluted emulsion. I've heard conflicting advice and which should be used with emulsion paints.

    2. I've heard conflicting advice about using PVA as a sealer.
I've painted behind a sink with emulsion but would like to waterproof it better.
Would it be OK to paint over with waterproof PVA?

    Thanks in advance
