Connecting multiple USB headsets to a PC

I would like to connect two seperate USB headsets to a laptop, play the same audio on both and record the combined input from both microphones. Is this possible?

The first stumbling block is that I don't see any way to configure more than one audio input/output in XP. Do I need specialty SW?

I presume I would need software with some conferencing function to combine the audio inputs - can anybody recommend some?
