    im just finished a degree in elec eng and dont know what to do. theres not many jobs but there are loads in programming. im thinking of doing a postgrad in software eng cos the jobs market is so crap. whats it like abroad?

    Hi Binaryboy,

    I've been working abroad 70% of the time in the last 7 years in IT/Telecoms Consultancy.

    For your first job I would recommend staying in Ireland. I'd only go abroad really after a couple of years experience and then you can look for some good contracting places. There's always loads in Europe, mainly UK, Holland, Germany & Belgium.

    Postgrad would certainly do no harm at all and should walk into a job afterwards where you'd get good training and good experience.
