    electricity presents:

Electric Shock #6 - Kne' Deep Records Party
Friday November 3rd at Temple Bar Music Centre

DJ Rush [Kne' Deep - Chicago]
DJ Bold [Kne' Deep - Berlin]
DJ Rian Ryan [Electric City - Dublin]

4...5...6... - it's getting hard to keep up but rolling in to town for a weekend extravaganza that incorporates two nights, two musical styles and an ES#6 appearance, it's the one and only DJ Rush. When Major Rush last played for us in Traffic, it was an absolute mentalist night with people clambering for autographs and handshakes as soon as he strolled in to the venue. He was bowled over by the reception he got that night and promised he'd be back again before long. The time is now! Thursday November 2nd will see DJ Rush playing a mega rare disco and classic Chicago set in the intimate environs of Wax, while Electric Shock #6 will be a Kne' Deep Records party with DJ Rush and DJ Bold getting ready to detonate the Temple Bar Music Centre on Friday November 3rd. The man is a bona fide star and DJing legend through the years with more credentials than a Mourinho press conference.

The walls of the TBMC are going to crumble as one of the biggest DJs in the world makes his long-awaited return to Dublin. DJ Rush - the 6'
6" Denis Rodman of techno will be shaking down the club and tearing up the decks alongside the cricket and hard techno-loving DJ Bold. Just like back in Traffic in April of last year, this is sure to be a crazy night with the cross-dressing sailor boy. DJ Rush [born Isaiah Major] is responsible for making some of the hardest, fastest, downright nastiest techno and house from his three homes in Chicago, London, and Berlin.

Born in Chicago, Rush entered the clubbing world at a young age. It was at legendary Chicago clubs such as The Ringzone, Playground, The Candystore, and The Music Box that he developed a taste for electronic music. He soon began tinkering with equipment in his bedroom, releasing his first audio assault, "Knee' Deep," in '91 on the world-renowned Trax imprint. One year later, his second release ("Childs Play") opened the floodgates for him to travel Europe as a DJ, where his flamboyant style and outlandish dress sense gained him many followers. DJ Rush [Major Rush, Russian Roulette] has had releases through the years on heavyweight labels such as Dance Mania, Trax, Saber, Cosmic, Djax-Up-Beats, Force Inc, Relief, Mental Groove, Session, Terminal M, Predicaments, Jackstar not to mention his own imprints of Pro Jex and Kne' Deep. Classic techno and jacking anthems such as Get On Up, Robo' Trippin, Mother****ing Bass, Ooo La La, showcase the absolutely low down sleazy hard hitting twisted techno and house music that Rush has produced.

Alongside DJ Rush on the night will be DJ Bold who first cam e to note with a series of releases on the Adelaide label VAST. Having made a name for himself, he made the move to Berlin to make his techno fortune. Meeting up with Rush there gave Bold the opportunity to put out releases on Kne' Deep, Symbolism and High Octane. He subsequently started working on live shows with DJ Rush as 'The Unborn Twins' and Bold's mastery of the studio and the turntables has made him a regular at all the leading techno festivals across Europe including I Love Techno, Awakenings, and Love Parade.

Completing the line-up is our very own Rian Ryan making his Electric Shock debut - his deck skills and application to the Technics are unrivalled and being a devoted fan of the Chicago / Ghetto sound he was the perfect choice to represent. Keeping our fingers crossed that Rian's trousers will stay on for the entirety of his set, we really can't make any promises on that regard. A unique and singular individual with a penchant for fancy cartoons and floor rocking music, Rian has constantly rocked the controls of EC every time he has played.

Tickets priced e20 are available from Selectah Records (no booking fee) & www.tickets.ie (subject to booking fee) and are moving along sharpish. It was a lockout at Traffic when the man like Rush last rocked in to town so don't be stuck outside on Curved Street in the cold November night - get your ticket early!
