communal dish/aerial

My cousin is moving to a brand new appartment, i haven't seen it yet but he tells me that there is a communal dish on the roof and it is fully set up for sky and terestisal broadcasts.
Now, he had a good look around and there is only one tv point in the main livingroom, i asked him to remove the cover and there is only one cable behind it.
I'm not too familiar on these communal set ups, how is it poossible to get a satellite signal and a terestial signal down the one cable?
I have seen some setups with multiswitches ect but these always had more than one cable entering each appartment.
    Any help appreciated.

    It may not bother.
It may be an illegal distribution system feeding multiple Sky boxes onto analogue cable via RF out.

Or it may require an 950 MHz splitter/diplexer.

Thanks, i'll be checking it out myself at the weekend.
I'd say you're right with needing the 950 MHz splitter/diplexer.
I'll bring one along and see how we get on.
